Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin palyatif bakım bilgi düzeyi ve öz bildirime dayalı uygulamalarının palyatif bakım zorluklarını yordama düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı, korelasyonel ve kesitsel bir çalışma olarak yürütülmüştür. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma, Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Hemşirelik Fakültesi'nde öğrenim gören toplam 530 hemşirelik öğrencisi ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında; Hemşirelik Öğrencisi Bilgi Formu, Palyatif Bakım Bilgi Düzeyi Anketi, Öz Bildirime Dayalı Palyatif Bakım Uygulamaları Ölçeği ve Palyatif Bakım Zorlukları Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, korelasyon analizi ve regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %66'sının kadın, %38,7'sinin 3. sınıf öğrencisi, %34,5'inin palyatif bakıma yönelik eğitim aldığı ve %32,8'inin aldığı palyatif bakım eğitiminden memnun olduğu saptanmıştır. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin; cinsiyet, sınıf, palyatif bakım eğitimi alma durumu, palyatif bakım eğitimini yeterli bulma durumuna göre palyatif bakım bilgi düzeyi, öz bildirime dayalı palyatif bakım uygulamaları ve palyatif bakım zorlukları puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak ileri düzeyde anlamlı fark saptanmıştır. Çoklu regresyon analizi ile oluşturulan modele göre, hemşirelik öğrencilerin palyatif bakım bilgi düzeyinin ve uygulamalarının artması, yaşadıkları palyatif bakım zorluklarını azaltmaktadır. Modelde hemşirelik öğrencilerinin palyatif bakım bilgi düzeyi ve öz bildirime dayalı palyatif bakım uygulamaları palyatif bakım zorluğu düzeylerinin %84,4'ünü açıklamaktadır. Sonuç: Bu araştırmanın bulguları, öğrencilerin palyatif bakım bilgi düzeyi ve uygulamalarının palyatif bakımda yaşanan zorlukların azaltılmasını anlamlı şekilde etkilediğini göstermiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarının genellenebilirliğinin artırılması için araştırmanın Türkiye'nin farklı bölgelerindeki hemşirelik fakültelerinde tekrarlanması önerilir.

Objective: It was conducted as a descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study in order to determine the predictive level of nursing students' palliative care knowledge and self-report-based practices on palliative care difficulties. Material and Methods: The study was conducted with a total of 530 nursing students studying at the Nursing Faculty of Dokuz Eylül University. In collecting research data; Nursing Student Information Form, Palliative Care Knowledge Level Questionnaire, Self-Report-Based Palliative Care Practices Scale and Palliative Care Difficulties Scale were used. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: It was determined that 66% of the students participating in the study were women, 38.7% were 3rd grade students, 34.5% received for palliative care education and 32.8% were satisfied with the palliative care education they received. A statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of the nursing students for palliative care knowledge, self-reported based palliative care practices and palliative care difficulties according to their gender, class, palliative care education status, and their status of palliative care education sufficient. According to the model created with the multiple regression analysis, the increase in the knowledge and practices of nursing students in palliative care reduces their palliative care difficulties. In the model, the palliative care knowledge level of nursing students and self-reported palliative care practices explain 84.4% of their palliative care difficulty levels. Conclusion: This study showed that students' level of palliative care knowledge and practices significantly affected the reduction of palliative care difficulties. Repeating the nursing faculty working in different regions of Turkey in order to increase the generalizability of the results is recommended.
