Objective: The research was conducted to examine the factors that affect the sleep status of nurses. Material and Method: The research was carried out in cross-sectional type between October 2019 and December 2019. The population of the study consisted of 346 nurses working in a Antalya Atatürk State Hospital and 120 nurses whose sample agreed to participate in the study. The data of the research were collected by using 'Individual Information Form' related to introductory information about nurses 'Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)' and 'Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS)'. Spearman correlation analysis and Mann Whitney-U Test were used to test the relationship between variables. Results: It was determined that the nurses participating in the study were 42.2±5.5 years average, 80.8% were undergraduate/graduate graduates and worked for an average of 22.1±6.5 years. It was found that 49.2% of the nurses had poor sleep quality and increased sleepiness in 20%. With average working hours per week in the positive direction PSQI total score is determined that a relationship (r=0.264; p=0.004). It was determined that the ESS total mean scores of the nurses working in risky services were higher than those working in other services (p=0.014). It was determined that those who do regular sports have lower average PSQI total scores (p=0.005). Conclusion: It was found that there was a relationship between weekly working hours and sleep quality, and working in risky wards increased daytime sleepiness. Rotations of nurses working in risky wards to other clinics should be evaluated. Nurses' weekly working and resting hours should be revised.
