Objective: The purpose of the current study; It is the comparison of basketball-specific musculoskeletal system scanning (BSS), functional tests, injury risks and evaluation of the relationship between tests in young Turkish basketball players according to their positions on the court. Material and Methods: Basketball players aged between 18-25 years, who actively played in basketball clubs (n=88, 62 man/26 woman, 20.09±2.25 years) in Yeditepe University. Athletes were divided into three groups as guard (n=33), pivot (n=27) and forwards (n=28) according to the positions on the court. First day athletes performed a BSS. In the following days, the assessments of landing error scoring system-real time (LESS-RT), Y balance test, crossover triple hop test, weight-bearing lunge test and limb symmetry index. Results: While the guards scored lower than the forwards and pivots in LESS-RT (p<0.001), the number of players defined as perfect in LESS-RT was significantly higher in guards than forwards and pivots (p<0.001). In the other tests, there was no differences found between the groups (p=0.090-0.630). There was shown that BSS and LESS-RT were statistically highly correlated (r=-0.515, p<0.001). Conclusion: The guards had better scores than the forwads and the pivots in the landing error scoring system. In the assessments of BSS, all athletes could not achieve successful score. This situation can be shown us that all the athletes we evaluated are at high risk of injury and the pivots and the forwards may be more problematic according to the regard. We anticipate that athletes should receive appropriate training in to this situation.
