Amaç: Öğrencilerin fizyoterapi eğitimi sırasında görmüş oldukları yaklaşımlar mezuniyet sonrası bel ağrısı hakkındaki yönelimlerini etkilemektedir. Dört yıllık öğrencilik hayatından sonra fizyoterapist unvanı alan fizyoterapistlerin tutumlarının, tedavi sonuçlarına ve hastaların davranışlarına etki ettiği bilinmektedir. Bu araştırma, dört yıllık fizyoterapi eğitimi sırasında birinci, ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin bel ağrısı ile ilgili tutum ve inanışları arasındaki farklılıkları incelemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu araştırmaya, Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Sağlık Yüksekokulu Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Bölümünde eğitim gören bir (n=112), iki (n=119), üç (n=88) ve dördüncü (n=95) sınıf öğrencileri dâhil edilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden öğrencilere "Fizyoterapistlerin Bel Ağrısı ile İlgili Tutum ve İnanışları Anketi" uygulandı. Anketin alt dallarının puanları sınıf grupları açısından tek yönlü varyans analizi testi kullanılarak karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: Tek yönlü varyans analizi sonucunda sınıfların biyomedikal yönelim ve biyopsikososyal yönelim puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı fark olduğu bulundu. Tukey testi sonucuna göre, biyomedikal yönelim puan ortalamaları arasındaki farkın bir ile dördüncü sınıf, iki ile üçüncü sınıf ve iki ile dördüncü sınıf arasındaki istatistiksel farktan kaynaklandığı görüldü. Yine Tukey testi sonucuna göre biyopsikososyal yönelim puan ortalamaları arasındaki farkın bir ile dördüncü sınıf, iki ile üçüncü sınıf ve iki ile dördüncü sınıf arasındaki istatistiksel farktan kaynaklandığı görüldü. Sonuç: Dört yıllık fizyoterapi lisans eğitimi alan öğrencilerin bel ağrısı hakkındaki tutum ve inanışlarının bulundukları sınıfa göre değişiklik gösterdiği gözlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin klinik rehberlerle uyumlu olarak yetiştirilebilmesi ve bel ağrısı epidemisinde üzerlerine düşen görevi yerine getirebilmeleri için biyopsikososyal yönelimler hakkında daha fazla bilgilendirilmesi, klinik pratiklerinde bu uygulamalara daha fazla yer verilmesi sağlanmalıdır.

Objective: It has been known that health care professionals' attitudes and beliefs influence the beliefs of patients and treatment outcomes. This is important in the treatment of low back pain because it has been shown that the appropriate advice provided by the health care professional are correlated with positive outcomes. This study was planned to investigate the differences between the pain attitudes and beliefs of the first, second, third and fourth year physiotherapy students during the four-year physiotherapy education. Material and Methods: Participants were recruited from year one, two, three and four of the undergraduate physiotherapy degree programme within the School of Health Science at Dumlupinar University in Turkey. The Turkish version of the Pain Attitudes and Beliefs Scale for Physiotherapists used for assessing the attitudes and beliefs of undergraduate students. The scores of the subscales of the questionnaire were compared using the one-way analysis of variance test for class factor. Results: The one-way ANOVA indicated a statistically significant difference in biomedical and biopsychosocial subscale between years. Post-hoc Tukey analysis identified that there was a statistically significant differences in biomedical subscale between year 1 and year 4, between year 2 and year 3 and between year 2 and year 4. And also, there was a statistically significant differences in biopsychosocial subscale between year 1 and year 4, between year 2 and year 3 and between year 2 and year 4. Conclusion: This study gave an idea of how undergaduate physiotherapy students' change their attitudes and beliefs about low back pain over the course of undergaduate education. Students should be informed more about biopsychosocial orientations so that they can be trained in accordance with the evidence-based management guidelines and fulfill their role in low back pain epidemic. In their clinical placement, practise of evidence-based management should be increased.
