Objective: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate an alkacid material, which can be polymerized in two different ways, in terms of microleakage when hardened spontaneously or in two phases, and to compare it with tooth-colored restorative materials. Material and Methods: For this study, 20 extracted intact human molars were selected. Class II box cavities ending 1 mm below the enamel-cementum junction were prepared on both mesial and distal sides of the extracted teeth. A total of 40 cavities obtained were restored in 4 different ways (n=10): self-cured alkacid Cention-N; dual-cured alkacid Cention-N; Equia Forte glass ionomer cement, Estelite posterior composite. After aging with 10,000 thermal cycles at temperatures between 5 °C and 55 °C, the samples were kept in 50% AgNO3 solution for 24 h and internal adaptation analyses were performed with a micro-computed tomography system. The data were analyzed with one-way (ANOVA) (p<0.05). Results: Microleakage values of the groups restored with different restorative materials did not show a statistically significant difference (p=0.075). Although not statistically significant, Dual-phase curing Cention-N (0.019) and Equia Forte glass ionomer (0.022) showed the lowest microleakage level (p>0.05), while self-curing Cention-N (0.106) and Estelite Posterior (0.111) showed the highest level of microleakage (p>0.05). Conclusion: Alkacid and glass ionomer material showed similar microleakage values as the resin composite routinely used in the clinic, which is promising in terms of microleakage in the clinical use of these materials.
