Amaç: Diş teknisyenlerinin işleri nedeniyle maruz kaldıkları maddelere bağlı gelişen interstisyel akciğer hastalığına 'diş teknisyeni pnömokonyozu' denilmektedir. Çalışmamızda bu iş grubunda pnömokonyoz saptanan hastalar, hastaların solunum sistemin semptomları ve yüksek rezolüsyonlu bilgisayarlı tomografi (YRBT) bulguları değerlendirmek amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Samsun ilindeki ruhsatlı tüm diş protez laboratuvarları bilgilendirildikten sonra, polikliniğimize çalışmaya katılmak amacı ile başvuran kişilerden anket formu dolduranlara, solunum fonksiyon testi (SFT) ve yüksek rezolüsyonlu bilgisayarlı tomografi incelemesi yapıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya, 1'i kadın, 71'i erkek 72 kişi alındı.

Objective: Intestinal lung disease caused by substances exposed to the work of dental technicians is called 'dental technician pneumoconiosis'. In this study, we aimed to evaluate patients with pneumoconiosis, respiratory symptoms and high resolution computed tomography (HRCT) findings. Material and Methods: After all dental prosthesis laboratories in Samsun were informed, respiratory function test and high resolution computed tomography examination were performed on those who applied to our outpatient clinic to fill in the questionnaire. Results: A total of 72 patients, 1 female and 71 male, were included in the study. The mean age was 31 (21-48) years. Pneumoconiosis was detected in 15 of the dental technicians who were screened. Progressive massive fibrosis was detected in 5 patients. HRCT findings of the patients were evaluated in detail. Parenchymal nodules were the most common. Pulmonary function test values of the patient group were within normal range. (FEV1: 3584±555 94±16%, FVC: 4280±639 94±14%, FEV1/FVC: 83±4.9%) Respiratory complaints did not correlate with radiological appearance. Conclusion: Periodic HRCT screening may also be necessary for early diagnosis of silicosis, which is an occupational disease of dental technicians. A large number of large-scale studies are needed.
