Derin kapanış, ortodonti hastalarında oldukça yaygın görülen bir problemdir. Bu problem, arka dişlerin normalden az sürmesi, üst ve/veya alt çene kesici dişlerinin normalden fazla sürmesi veya bunların birleşimi sonucu meydana gelebilir. Alt çenenin ve temporomandibuler eklem fonksiyonlarının düzeltilmesi, alt çene büyüme atılımının gerçekleşebilmesi, ilgili dişlerde periodontal doku hasarının önlenmesi veya periodontal doku kaybı olan dişlerin tedavisinin sağlanması ve estetik amaçlarla derin kapanışın düzeltilmesi gerekir. Bu amaçla çoğunlukla yüzün dik yön boyutlarının normal veya artmış olduğu, artmış kesici diş görünümüne ve derin bir Spee eğrisine sahip olan hastalarda kesici dişlerin intrüzyonu hedeflenir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, derin kapanışa sahip hastalarda, anterior dişlerin intrüzyonu amacıyla kullanılan mekaniklerin, literatürdeki çalışmalar rehberliğinde sunmaktır.

Deep bite is a common problem in orthodontic patients. This problem is originated from less eruption of the posterior teeth, the overeruption of the upper and/or lower incisors, or their combination. Correction of deep bite should be achieved for improvement in functions of mandible and temporomandibular joint, stimulation of mandibular growth, prevention of periodontal tissue damage in related teeth or treatment of these teeth and aesthetic reasons. For this purpose, the intrusion of incisor teeth is mainly aimed in cases of an increased appearance of incisors and a deep Spee curve accompanied by increased or normal vertical dimension of the face. The purpose of this review is to present the mechanics used for intrusion of the anterior teeth in patients with deep bite with the guidance of studies in the literature.
