ABSTRACT
Objective: This study was conducted as a descriptive study to examine the relationship between post-traumatic growth and psychological resilience of healthcare workers working in the filiation team during the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic process. Material and Methods: This study, in a descriptive cross-sectional research design, was carried out with 205 healthcare workers in a city central community health center filiation team between June 2020 and September 2020. By using the online survey method in data collection; personal information form, Post Traumatic Growth Scale (PTGS) and Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults (PRSA) were applied. Results: It was determined that the mean age of the participants was 32.36±7.09, the majority of women (59.0%) in gender distribution, and 64.4% of the participants were undergraduates. PTGS total score was 43.78±25.99. It was determined that there was no significant relationship between the PRSA total score and the PTGS total score (p>0.05). Conclusion: In this study, the fact that the total score of the PTGS was below the average means that the participants did not obtain positive assumptions from the traumatic events they experienced, while the total score of the PRSA was above the average, indicating that the participants had high levels of resilience. It is very important to take measures to protect and develop the psychological resilience necessary to define how health professionals cope with this challenging process and to meet the needs of society in a flexible and creative way within the health care system.
