Olası salgınlarda sağlık çalışanlarının TAT'a yönelik tutumlarının değerlendirilmesi, TAT'ın bulaşıcı hastalıklar üzerine etkisinin kanıt temelli çalışmalarla desteklenmesi önemlidir.

ABSTRACT
Objective: The aim of the research is to examine the attitudes and behaviors of healthcare professionals who have experienced coronavirus disease2019 (COVID-19) towards the use of complementary and alternative medicine. Material and Methods: The population of the descriptive-relationship-seeking study consisted of healthcare workers (n=500) who had COVID-19 in a university hospital between August and October 2021; the sample consisted of 306 healthcare workers. The data collected through the Structured Questionnaire and the Attitudes towards Using Complementary Therapies Scale (TTTS) were analyzed in the SPSS 25 program. Results: It was observed that the mean age of the health workers was 27.60±6.02 years, 75.2% were women, 63.1% were nurses, 84.6% had no chronic disease, 57.5% had a good perception of their general health status. The distribution of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) usage rates before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic were 62.7%, 94.8%, and 36.6%, respectively. It has been determined that the most used CAM applications during the COVID19 pandemic process are drinking herbal tea and plenty of water, consuming gren vegetables, fruits and nuts, and vitamin supplements. The mean TTTS score of healthcare workers was found to be 20.557.89. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between TTTS scores according to age and occupation variables (p<0.05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between using CAM applications and TTTS scores before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and TTTS scores of those who used CAM applications were higher than those who did not (p<0.05). Conclusion: It has been observed that healthcare professionals have a positive attitude towards using complementary therapies, there is an increase in the use of CAM during the COVID19 pandemic process, age and occupation variables, and the use of CAM before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic affect their attitudes towards using complementary therapies. It is important to evaluate the attitudes of healthcare professionals towards CAM in possible epidemics and to support the effect of CAM on infectious diseases with evidence-based studies.
