Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether there is an association between children's color preference and their dental anxiety. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study consisted of 100 children aged 3-6 years and their parents who were attending their first dental examination. Corah's Dental Anxiety Scale (CDAS) was filled by the parents before the dental examinations were carried out to determine the dental anxiety of the children. The children were evaluated by the dentist according to the Frankl Behavior Rating Scale (FBRS), taking into account their attitudes during the examination. After the examination, the pictures on the "Facial Image Scale (FIS)" were shown to the children, and they were asked to prefer a facial expression from the scale to describe the feelings they felt during the examination. The children were shown a card with 6 colorful pictures of dental units and asked, what color dental unit would you like to be treated on. Children's preferred color recorded. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical methods (mean, standard deviation), Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney U test were used. Results: No significant correlation was found between color preference and age, FIS, CDAS, and dmft (p>0.05). A statistically significant relationship was found between color preference and gender (p0.05). Conclusion: In the present study, no significant relationship was found between dental anxiety and children's color preferences. Longterm studies are needed with different age groups and children with different dental anxiety levels.
