ÖZET
 Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı; çocuklarda mevcut olan ağız sağlığı problemleri nedeniyle ebeveynlerin hissettikleri suçluluk duygusunu ve bu duygunun sosyodemografik ve psikolojik faktörler ile olan ilişkisini değerlendirmektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 3 ile 6 yaşları arasında 178 çocuk ve ebeveynleri dahil edilmiştir. Çocukların dental muayenesi bir çocuk diş hekimi tarafından yapılmış ve EÇÇ (çürüksüz/az şiddetli/çok şiddetli) ile malokluzyon (var/yok) varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Ebeveynlerden demografik özellikleri ve hissettikleri suçluluk duygusu ile ilgili psikolojik sorular içeren anketi cevaplamaları istenmiştir. Ebeveynlerin suçluluk duygusunu ölçmekte kullanılan soru, Erken Çocukluk Çürüğü Ağız Sağlığı Etki Ölçeği'nin (Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale: ECOHIS) Türkçe versiyonu kaynak alınarak oluşturulmuştur. İstatistiksel olarak ebeveyn suçluluğu ile her bir bağımsız değişken arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek için Ki-kare testi yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Ebeveynlerin toplam %32,6'sı çocuklarında var olan diş problemleri ile ilgili kendisini suçlu hissettiğini bildirmiştir. Ortalama (± ss) dmf-t skorunun 7,17 (± 3,6) ve çocukların %66,8'inin şiddetli çürük durumuna dahil olduğu saptanmıştır. Çocukların %35,8'inde ise malokluzyon olduğu görülmüştür. Ebeveynlerin suçluluk hissi ile 'çocuğun yaşı' ve 'Sizce çocuğunuzun dişlerinde problem var mı?' sorusuna verilen cevaplar arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır (p<0,05). 3 ve 4 yaşındaki çocukların ebeveynleri, 5 ve 6 yaşındaki çocukların ebeveynlerine göre daha yüksek oranda suçluluk hissetmiştir. Ebeveyn suçluluğunun; çocuklarının dişlerinde problem olduğunu düşündükçe arttığı saptanmıştır. Ebeveynlerin büyük bir kısmı (%92) çocuklarının dişlerinde problem olduğunu düşünürken, %97'si bu problemlerin önlenebileceğini belirtmiştir. Sonuç: Ebeveynler, çocuklarında mevcut olan diş problemleri ile ilgili suçluluk hissetmektedir. Ebeveynlerin suçluluk hissi; çocuğun yaşı ve çocuğun dişlerinde problem olduğu düşüncesi ile ilişkilidir.

ABSTRACT
 Objective: The aim of this study was to assess whether parents feel guilty for their children's oral problems, associating this feeling with socio-demographic and psychological factors. Material and Methods: We included 178 children aged between 3 and 6 and their parents in the study. One pediatric dentist examined the children for early childhood caries (ECC; no caries; low and high severity) and malocclusion (presence and absence). Parents answered questionnaires on demographic data and psychological variables about feeling guilty. The question used to measure parents' quilt was based on the Turkish version of the Early Childhood Oral Health Impact Scale (ECOHIS). Chi-square test was used for statistical analysis. Results: A total of 32.6% parents reported feeling guilty for the oral problems in their children. The mean (± sd) dmf-t score was 7.17 (± 3.6) and 66.8% of the children presented with high severity caries. Malocclusion was present in 35.8% of children. The feeling of guilt in parents was significantly associated with child's age and the parents' thought that their child had oral problems (p<0.05). Parents of children aged 3 and 4 felt more guilty than parents of children aged 5 and 6. The feeling of guilty was more frequently observed when parents believed that their child had oral problems. The majority of parents (92%) thought that their children had oral problems, while 97% declared that these problems could be prevented. Conclusion: The parents feel guilty about the oral problems in their children. Feeling guilty in parents is associated with child's age and believing that their child has an oral problem.

1. TERMS OF USE

4.2. People benefiting from the services provided by "Turkiye Klinikleri" and using the website can use the "SITE" only according to the law and only for personal reasons. Users have the criminal and civil liability for every process and action they take in the "SITE". 8. LAW AND AUTHORISATION TO FOLLOW

Turkish Law will be applied in practicing, interpreting the hereby "Terms of Use" and managing the emerging legal relationships within this "Terms of Use" in case of finding element of foreignness, except for the rules of Turkish conflict of laws. Ankara Courts and Enforcement Offices are entitled in any controversy happened or may happen due to hereby contract.

9. CLOSING AND AGREEMENT

Hereby "Terms of Use" come into force when announced in the "SITE" by "Turkiye Klinikleri". The users are regarded to agree to hereby contract terms by using the "SITE". "Turkiye Klinikleri" may change the contract terms and the changes will be come into force by specifying the version number and the date of change on time it is published in the "SITE".
