Objective: This study aims to determine the use of mobile health applications by nurses working in surgical clinics and their views on mobile health applications. Material and Methods: The universe of this descriptive study consisted of nurses working in the surgical clinics of a university hospital between 17 and 31 January 2023. The sample of the study consisted of 136 (86.6%) nurses who agreed to participate in the study. Study data were collected using the ''Personal Information Form'' and the ''Information Questionnaire on Nurses' Use of Mobile Health Applications''. Descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage) were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: 83.8% of the nurses participating in the study reported that they used mobile health applications for their health, 86.8% for their profession, and 81.6% of them reported that they recommended mobile health applications to patients. In the study, the top five applications most frequently used by nurses (n=114) who use mobile health applications are e-Pulse (95%, n=108), Life Fits into Home (72%, n=82), Central Physician Appointment System (65%, n=74), pedometer (53%, n=60) and menstrual calendar applications (42%, n=48). 85.1% (n=97) of the nurses using mobile health applications reported that mobile health applications were useful in planning, 59.6% (n=68) reported that they were useful as a reminder, and 50% (n=57) of them obtained useful information. Conclusion: As a result, it was determined in the study that the majority of nurses use mobile health applications both for their health and their profession and recommend them to their patients. It was determined that the majority of nurses found mobile health applications useful and reliable. These results reveal that mobile health applications have been widely adopted successfully by nurses working in surgical clinics. In this context, it is recommended to increase the efforts to integrate mobile health applications into the health system.
