Resin-bonded adhesive bridge is considered a rational approach in minimally invasive dentistry for the replacement of a single missing tooth, when the placement of dental implant-supported restoration is not possible. Different types of adhesive bridge restorations are available for an alternative treatment option and reveals with acceptable clinical and esthetic success. In cases where a permanent restoration cannot be applied immediately but a temporary restoration is required, adhesive bridge restorations made with glass-fiber reinforced composite resin material are recommended. These restorations can be prepared in a short time and have aesthetic results but have a poor long-term success. Recently, with the right choice of material and cementation technique, long-term success is possible with adhesive bridge restorations. Zirconia, a highly durable all-ceramic material, provides excellent clinical success and esthetic results in adhesive bridge restorations. In all-ceramic material adhesive bridge restorations, 3 different types of failure are seen: biological, technical and aesthetic. One of the most common types of technical failure, disconnection, has been minimized with the definition of the APC cementation technique. Other types of technical failures, such as connector fracture and chipping, can be prevented with a minimum connector size of 3 mm x 3 mm=9 mm2 and monolithic zirconia adhesive bridge restoration applications. In the first adhesive bridge restorations, a two-retainer design was preferred. However, to avoid disconnection caused by shear forces of 2 supporting teeth due to the difference in functional mobility, and for longerterm success of the restoration, single-retainer, in other words, a single-extension adhesive bridge is preferred.
