Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of match-style child soccer education on anthropometric and technical capacity of 12-year old sedentary boys. Material and Methods: 32 healthy and voluntary sedentary boys were included in the study. Children's soccer unit study programs were applied 1 hour per day, and for 2 days in a week for 12-week. For the anthropometric characteristics; height, body weight, body mass index and body fat percentage values, and also for the technical capacities; slalom dribbling, ball bouncing, quick passing and accuracy of shooting test values of the participants were measured before and after the study. One-way ANOVA test was used to determine the variances between the means of pre- and post-test. The linear relations between the anthropometric and technical variables were determined by Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: A significant improvement was observed in the all technical variables between the pre- and post-test of our study group. There were also very weak relationships between the anthropometric and technical characteristics. On the other hand, anthropometric and technical features were found to have a high level of positive or negative relationships within themselves. Conclusion: It is concluded that the match-style child soccer education programs provide positive contributions to the children's anthropometric and technical characteristics. In addition, such education can be offered as popular and entertaining activities that enable the physical and physiological fitness of children as well as their technical capacity, social and psychological status.
